What do I need to study the course?
To achieve well at A level a B grade at GCSE is desirable, however we accept students, who are willing to work hard, with a grade C or above for the course. It is recommended that you should have developed a level of practical and critical awareness of drama and theatre. You do not need to be a good actor to do well, you can choose a technical skill such as lighting or sound design for your practical assessment. The most important qualities you need are enthusiasm, commitment and the ability to work hard under pressure.

Drama and Theatre Studies develops skills for work requiring a high level of confidence, presentation, self-awareness and working with others. It will also provide you with the opportunity to be creative and express yourself in an alternative way to more theory based subjects. Previous students have found careers in Advertising, Design, Recruitment, Human Resources, the Police Force, Radio, Television, Teaching and Theatre.
