Silver Award for CCQM

We are very proud to share that we are the first school in Leeds to achieve the Silver Award for the Cultural Cohesion Quality Mark (CCQM).

Leeds City Council developed the CCQM to improve equality, reduce discrimination and enable fair access to opportunities for every citizen. The award recognises organisations that demonstrate cultural responsiveness and a strong commitment to building harmonious relationships, improving equality and reducing discrimination so that every student can access the opportunities they deserve. This is not a tick box exercise. It reflects long-term dedication and a whole school approach to inclusion.

Interim Head of School, Ms Kempthorne said, “A huge thank you to Miss Flaherty and Mrs Clarke for their relentless hard work and perseverance with the application. I would also like to extend thanks to the wider staff body who champion our vision and values on a daily basis.”  The assessors were extremely impressed and were especially struck by how articulate and thoughtful our students are.

From curriculum development to student leadership, and staff training to the creation of safe and supportive spaces, this achievement reflects the commitment shown across all areas of school life.

The CCQM assessors commented, “Reviewing your fantastic journey so far has been a pleasure. Through our validation meeting it was clear that Mrs Clarke and Miss Flaherty are very passionate and reflective about the CCQM and are committed to continuing the journey after receiving the Silver Award. We are looking forward to returning to hear about your next steps from you, your students, governors and families."
