On Thursday 29th February, 21 students from year 8 & 9 visited The University of Leeds to attend The Brilliant Club Graduation. Since November, they have been working with PHd students, attending seminars and tutorials and developing study skills, such as academic writing. To pass this challenging and ambitious programme, they had to complete a 2000 word essay.
The graduation event was a chance to celebrate their success. They reflected on how the programme would help them in their future studies, had a tour of the campus and met with student ambassadors. The Brilliant Club is a project to support students from less affluent backgrounds to access the most competitive universities and succeed when they get there.
