Mrs Davison-Culmer is an experienced educator with nearly two decades of teaching French and Spanish. After studying French and Politics at the University of Leeds and the Institut d’Études Politiques in Rennes, France, she completed a PGCE in French at the University of Newcastle. Her early career saw her teaching in schools in Wakefield and Bradford.
She holds a Master's Degree in Education from York St John University, which further enhanced her understanding of effective teaching and leadership.
In 2017, Mrs Davison-Culmer joined Bishop Young Academy as Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL), where she relished the challenge of designing the curriculum. She believes that learning a language is a vital life skill. From 2022 to 2024, she served as Achievement Director for Key Stage 3. She particularly enjoyed developing opportunities to learn beyond the classroom and is committed to improving educational outcomes for all students.
She is passionate about transforming the lives of young people through education and is excited to be part of Bishop Young’s continuing journey of improvement.
Outside of the academy, Mrs Davison-Culmer enjoys running, swimming and live music.
